Types of Garage Doors

  • Sectional Garage Doors:

    These are made up of panel sections connected with hinges. As the door opens and closes, wheels at the edge of each panel roll inside a vertical track on each side of the door opening. Sectional doors sit parallel to the ceiling when open.

  • Roll-Up Garage Doors

    Also known as roller doors, these are designed to roll up into a coil above the opening. They are ideal for garages with limited ceiling space and are commonly used in commercial settings but are also suitable for residential use.

  • Side-Hinged Garage Doors

    These doors swing open and closed from a hinged frame on either side of the opening, resembling traditional barn doors. They can be made of wood or steel and are often chosen for their classic appearance.

  • Tilt-Up/Up and Over Retractable Garage Doors

    Similar to the canopy style, these doors tilt up and into the garage but do not form a canopy outside the garage. They are suspended independently from the frame, allowing the door to retract fully.

  • Slide to the Side Garage Doors

    These bend and sit parallel to the garage wall, sliding to the side of the garage to open. This design is ideal for garages with little headroom or ceiling space.
